I was born and raised in Ripley, a small town in North Mississippi. There is no better place on Earth to grow up. The people in Ripley are authentic, hard working people. They love family, value friendships and God. It is laced with deep front porches, where sweet iced tea flows and even in this fast paced tech age, It is not uncommon to just sit and visit. A handshake is still a binding thing here. People say yes ma’m and no sir. Neighbors still gather to help each other. It’s a special place.
After college, I migrated from Arkansas to Wisconsin which was as far north as my southern roots would tolerate. I finally landed in Jackson, TN where I have made my home for the past 20 years. I found Jackson had all the charm of my childhood home, in a little bigger footprint. I loved the downtown area and all it offered a young professional just getting his foot in the door of the business world.
March 15, 2019 I came back to Ripley. I opened a brick and mortar store on Main Street right off the Ripley Square. I filled it with unique things that have great stories. Things that you can’t find just anywhere. I named it after the places that made me who I am. Rip Jax Mercantile, like its namesakes, is a unique and friendly place. The brands we carry are proven down to earth, old school quality, and inspired trends and finds.
We recently have expanded to offer items at our online store ripjax.com. We have added several trusted brands such as Duke Cannon, Candleberry Candle Company, Levi’s, Tortuga Cakes, Parris Toys, Historic Lynchburg, HighPoint Coffee, Minga and Pearson Ranch Jerky. We work hard to bring our customers the best quality brands at affordable prices.
Customers can now place online orders or local pick up orders. We take our customer service seriously and guarantee to provide safe and respectful transactions at Rip Jax Mercantile, whether in person or online.
